Interior Architecture, Custom Furniture Design, Furniture Selection & Procurement

The Swan Dive team worked to create a space where locals and travelers would find a sophisticated yet approachable fine-dining experience that feels deeply reflective of the character of Crested Butte. Understanding the client’s desire for authenticity, our design team employed a restrained approach with clean lines allowing the high-quality materials to shine. The open-flame kitchen is the heart of the restaurant, evoking a primal sense of community. Diners are drawn to the warmth and spectacle of the fire, creating a welcoming atmosphere where the preparation of each dish becomes part of the shared experience. Locally sourced materials reinforce the owners’ focus on sustainability, including Beetle-kill pine, lime wash paint, natural stone, and locally made furnishings. Black exteriors pay homage to the town’s mining history, while Yule marble sourced from Colorado graces the bar countertop. Custom-blown glass light fixtures enhance the natural hues and tones throughout the space. What was previously a nonfunctional space with no room for seating, the Swan Dive team creatively transformed it into a focal point in the restaurant. Expanding the area into a highly-sought after second dining level, the team created a wine room with custom steel and an illuminated glass wine storage tower, catching pedestrians’ eyes and guiding diners to the second level. The result is a space where rustic elegance and local bounty combine to create a truly local, unforgettable dining experience.
